SINGERS/ACTORS - BOOK MONDAY, TUESDAY or FRIDAY ONLY
- Please prepare 60-90 seconds worth of a non-musical theatre rock song not featured in Rock of Ages (1980s rock encouraged). Since we’re not asking for a monologue, make sure your song choice shows your rock & roll attitude!
- You must provide your own backing track (no a cappella). Upload your track on the audition page, and please bring it on your own Bluetooth-capable device as a backup option.
- No monologue is required
- Be prepared to answer a couple of questions on the spot—we want to see your personality!
- All auditioners will stay for a dance call at the end of their hour (wear or bring clothing/shoes you can comfortably move in)
DANCERS-ONLY CALL - BOOK SATURDAY ONLY
We are also seeking high-energy, trained dancers to be featured ensemble members.
- Dancers will not be required to sing
- Must be comfortable with stylized movement, rock attitude, and storytelling through dance
- Prepare for a full dance audition—bring water and wear appropriate attire
Saturday June 7 is ONLY for dance-only auditions. DO NOT BOOK A TIME IN THIS BLOCK UNLESS FOR DANCE ONLY

Roles Available
GET READY TO ROCK:
This isn’t your typical musical—it’s loud, proud, and full of 80s glam. We’re looking for big personalities, strong voices, and fierce movers ready to bring down the house.
FRC believes that inclusivity and diversity are integral to the stories we tell both on and off our stage. We want an environment where everyone, from any background, can do their best work. We encourage performers of all skills and abilities (physical and/or mental), ages, gender identity, race, sexual orientation, and ethnicity to apply.
Name | Gender | Vocal Range | Description |
---|---|---|---|
Drew Boley | M | Tenor – Bb3–D5 | An appealing, good-guy rocker with great, easy comedic timing, a boyish charm, vulnerability, and a very strong rock tenor voice. Drew works at the legendary Bourbon Room hoping and waiting for his dreams to come true. He finds an instant attraction to Sherrie, the beautiful new arrival from the Midwest, who encourages him to go after his dreams. |
Sherrie Christian | F | Mezzo-Soprano – G3–F5 | A sweet, small-town girl who moves to the city to pursue a brighter future. She hopes to get her break in the acting business despite her parents’ obvious disapproval. This is a perfect role for a performer with a strong voice and solid acting skills. |
Lonny Barnett | M | Tenor – D3–D5 | The narrator of the piece, charming, mischievous, welcoming, vibrant personality, a guy who would be fun to spend one drunken night with. Strong, honest comedic timing and improv skills, and strong rock vocals. |
Dennis Dupree | M | Baritone – D3–A4 | Classic stoner type guy who runs the famous Bourbon Room club. Torn about whether he should sell the club to Hertz, a German businessman. Very strong comedic timing. A laid-back, easy-going dude. |
Stacee Jaxx | M | Tenor – C3–Eb5 | A sexy rock star. Decided to leave his successful hair/metal-rock band to try it solo. Self-important, confident, intriguing in all the wrong ways, the ultimate bad boy; he is all about sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll. Great comedic timing and strong rock tenor voice. |
Justice Charlier | F | Alto – G3–Db5 | Female, strong presence, an easy sensuality about her. Once a performer, she now operates a strip club where Sherrie winds up working. Takes on the maternal role for the girls that work for her. Strong, soulful vocals and belt needed. |
Hertz Klinemann | M | Baritone – F3–A4 | An attractive older German male. Uptight, cold, intimidating businessman trying to buy up the Strip to develop it. The bad guy of the piece. Strong comedic timing and baritone vocals. |
Franz Klinemann | M | Tenor – Db3–A4; Eb5 falsetto | Hertz’s son, young German male. Works for his father but not by choice. Pressured and intimidated by his father. Shy, gentle with a big heart. Strong vocals and comedic timing. |
Regina Koontz | F | Mezzo-Soprano – A3–Eb5 | A fun, hippie type, in shape, earthy girl who fights against the attempted take over of The Strip. Strong comedic timing, belt vocals. |
Ensemble | MF | All Voice Types | Busy bodies of the Sunset Strip! Includes dancers, bar patrons, reporters, groupies, protestors, and more. High energy, featured vocals and choreography throughout. |
